Denso redesigned their alternator for todays high amp demands. The first heavily produced domestic application was chrysler’s mini vans in 2001. This group was available in 136 and a modestly rated 160 amp models. The rotor iron portion is much more concentrated than earlier versions and the stator uses a many large solid copper pieces instead of parallel wound strands. When we rebuild these units, a new rectifier and voltage regulator in the kit bring the alternator to new condition.
