You know you have a 6G when you see the gray plastic bearing cover in the middle of the back of the alternator. Typical failure behavior is BAT light on-off inadvertently but voltages seem to be normal, or volt meter indicates erratic, short periods of no charge. These symptoms usually occur after 100K miles. NOTE: this alt. is for M. Trans. it’s the same kit as 8406WB but has a clutch pulley for increased belt life.
