We refer to this kit as our Denso survival kit. This kit is an absolute must for any garage or vehicle owner of a Honda,Toyota or Chrysler product that has this type starter. When this starter first begins to fail, you will experience a single “click”  then normal operation. You may even think you didn’t turn the ignition key far enough. But, this is an early warning that these contacts (in the kit) are failing. This symptom will become more and more prevalent, and if ignored long enough, will cease to operate at all.

The Nippondenso (later shortened to Denso) gear reduction starters were introduced to the U.S. in the early to middle 70′s by Toyota and Honda.  The same unchanged basic design incorporated in today’s Chrysler/Dodge vehicles (even heavy duty applications) makes it one of the longest surviving models, on a timeline, in starter alternator history. It’s design and ability to deliver torque with minimal amp draw is considered by many to be the best in the industry.

As you can see in the first 2 pics the small ignition wire connects with a weathertite pin style, or a 1/4″ inch spade lock. Once you see the metal plate on the back of the starter with the 3 screws and the round raised up middle( like pic 3 and 4) you know you have the right kit for this starter. 99% of these starters require only the kit provided, and routine lubrication to the gear reduction portion, for a return to full service.

The parent company : Performance Starter & Alternator, Inc. has been in business since 1985.  “Help” is what we’re all about. You don’t have to have any concerns whatsoever that your rebuild may not succeed. If you need help or have a question, e mail us. If you can’t understand the email, call us or leave a voice mail with your name and number. An actual starter alternator rebuilder will call you back.

If you STILL can’t get your rebuild to work, put it in a box and send it to us with your email, phone number and return adress. We will diagnose the problem for you, free of charge. Then, we will will contact you, and tell you what the problem is. At this point, you can make a choice of the following
1. We can fix the problem for you, test the unit to insure operation according to manufacturer’s spec’s, then send it back to you for a nominal fee. Of course, this price will be discussed before we do anything. And if if it’s something minor, we’ll probably fix it for free labor.
2. We can send it back to you, as is, for only the shipping charges, and you can have the satisfaction of  doing the job right for yourself.
3. You can choose to bail and ask for a refund for the cost of the parts.

All through the one year period of beta testing and interviews we maintained a 100% success rate and we have full intentions of maintaining that goal.
