Ford’s 4G (130 amp) is easily recognizable by the black metal shield on the back of the alternator(seen in pic 3). It has a three pin plug at the voltage regulator. Although the 4G has many applications from the late 90’s on, probably the most common would be Explorer with 4.0SOHC from 1997 to 2004. When the alternator begins to fail, the BAT light goes on and off inadvertently, or the voltmeter drops off periodically without any obvious reason. Over 120K miles is usually when this happens.
Kit includes : High quality voltage regulator, new rotor, DE bearing, rear bearing with tolerance rings.
